In addition to the standard volume control, Altec has also added treble and bass controls. Like most of Altec Lansing's product, the volume control is located on the right satellite making it convenient to easily change the volume to your preference. One thing I have always loved about Altec Lansing's computer speakers is their ability to think about ease of use.

With this type of speaker configuration, the ATP3 technically should produce a full range of sound over the more traditional mono-speaker style of its completion. The two microdrivers are situated in the upper part of each satellite, while the 3" mid/bass in housed facing downward in the base of each satellite. The ATP3's two satellites each consist of the following: two microdrivers (Tweeters) and a 3" mid/bass speaker. On the bright side they do list their amp specs correctly, showing the THD at the given power rating. Altec Lansing is a high end home speaker maker and to see them stoop down to using the same misleading specs as all the other computer speaker maker is disappointing. This is why Altec doesn't list the plus/minus dB scale for the frequency response. While the sub may be able to go down to 45 Hz, I doubt it can do it without any cone breakup. I'll be the first to admit the 45 Hz - 18kHz frequency response spec is nothing more than wishful thinking.

The ATP3 is not a Flat Panel speaker, it's a more traditional designed system that uses tweeters, mid-range and subwoofer speakers. Altec Lansing latest speaker creation is an answer to the cry of flat panel speakers.

Whether you're looking to build a new system, or upgrade an existing one a good speaker system should be on your list. No headphone jack or separate subwoofer volume control Slim profile design complements flat screen monitors perfectly. Separate controls for master volume, bass and treble provide flexibility in sound mix. Powered wooden subwoofer extends the low frequency response for realistic sound. Speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent monitor interference. Down-firing 3-inch mid/bass driver reproduces low-end frequencies for full, rich sound. Two dynamic microdrivers in each satellite deliver all the power and performance of a larger speaker. High quality, high performance three-piece system delivers powerful audio playback. The wooden subwoofer adds power and low frequency realism. This three-piece system dramatically enhances PC audio. The ATP3 design delivers powerful audio in a space saving shape. It is the perfect choice for a space-saving audio solution. how much it will be, u figure it out.The ATP3 is a stylish 3-piece system with a thin profile design. which might cost you roughly RM 60-RM80.įYI, usual RCA plug which is good quality already cost nearly RM 20. hence it might be really expensive even u can manage to fix one. plus soldering the small DIN plugs require quite high DIY skill, and a lot of time to do it tidy and durable. If you don't believe me and wanna keep on looking for one, good luck then.Īnd honest speaking, even if some one manage to find the plug, the plug price alone might be expensive. or go buy an spoiled ATP3 to replace the cable. hence it's only way i think, to modify the speaker.

and it is uncompatible with my altec lansing ACS295 which using the same DIN.ĪCS45.1 and ACS295 DIN even though same design, the layout is different, and the plug is slightly bigger, hence cannot really fit into ATP3 port. It's customised, and i NEVER seen it in store. But this is the picture i took from ATP3 DIN.
